After trying out various LED lamps placed on a headboard platform, the OttLite lamp was selected. I was so pleased, that I ordered another one.* The lamp has a deep recessed, diffused LED light source. This is helpful in minimizing the effects of glare and too much light on the person who is not using a lamp.* The lamp has an easily flexible neck for positioning the lamp head to the various angles and heights.* The base is nicely weighted for some counter-balance.* The lamp has one easy-to-use switch at the base that controls ON/OFF, brightness, and color temperature. I find this easier to access and use than the multiple controls on LED bar-style desk lamps.* The simplicity of the design makes it easy to dust and keep clean.* The lamp specifications claim an extremely high CRI. This I can’t measure, however I did hold a colorful photo under the lamp light and was pleased with the depth of color.* The brightness range seems suitable for a bedroom lamp. I am glad that it is not too bright, since we mostly read digital books. (I wish that it could go even dimmer—as dim as a night light.)* The built-in USB charger is handy and eliminates the clutter of having another outlet for this purpose. (I wish there were two 2.4A chargers.)
Initially, I hesitated in purchasing this lamp, because it seemed too expensive. But I feel that I received a quality lamp for the price.
