I bought this to sit on the couch and use and I like it so far. I also like that the legs can adjust their height. The side drawer feels like it could randomly open if I tilted the whole table the right way and the "laptop stopper" wood piece is a bit flimsy. For sanded, unstained wood to use as a laptop desk, it's good quality for the price! Our Saturday mornings are spent in bed with our dogs, drinking coffee, sharing snacks, and hanging out. It's an important ritual, but faced logistical challenges one might expect due to balancing mugs of hot coffee safely and trying to keep my donut from being knocked off the bed. I bought this with low expectations, and I am so impressed with it that I'm buying another so my s/o can enjoy it too! It's sturdy, very customizable, and folds nicely for storage. I love that I can remove the little laptop ledge and stow it in the small drawer on the desk when not in use. This has made breakfasts in bed so much easier, which means I can enjoy time with my family, and that is something I value highly when deciding if a purchase is worth it. This desk is so well-designed and easy to use that I find myself excited to grab it for things I'd usually have to do at a table, like organizing my planner or even doing my makeup. I love this desk.I love it - works great for me. My husband liked mine so much, he had me order him one.Overall good but slight shakyUPDATE: I dropped my rating down from 5 stars to 3 stars. After using the desk for a little while, the poorly designed locking mechanisms on the legs have proven to be more annoying than I originally thought they would be. They do a terrible job of keeping the legs locked in place. This may have been done on purpose to try to help prevent people from accidentally breaking the legs. Regardless, they do not work. (I've added a close-up picture of the locking mechanism.) I dropped my rating down 1 star because of the leg latch problem. I dropped it down another star because, after reading other reviews, I discovered this was a problem that the manufacturer SONGMICS was already well aware of and stated they were going to fix long before I bought this lap desk. A year later, and they still haven't fixed it!==========There's a lot of cheap junk for sale on Amazon these days but every once in a while you'll find a gem that is both inexpensive and well thought out. This is one of those gems.I was looking for something to lessen the negative impact on my body of my bad habit of reading and using my laptop in bed. I bought Smooth finish...perfect height for reading a book for me so that I dont have to bend my neck much...Loved it!!Like the portable desk would love it if the legs were better in being put together. They are wobbly and the leg lock doesn’t stay in place which makes it wobbly. The weight is decent and not made from flimsy wood like material. The legs just need to be a bit more sturdy and it would be a perfect lap table. The lower bar that keeps your laptop form sliding off gets in the way of your hands when you type and it is not comfortable. The designers should definitely consider lowering the size of this bar, or including other mechanisms to support laptop use.Other than that, it comes ready to use, no assemble needed, and it seems to be sturdy. Its perfect. Quality is superb.Thought of getting the bamboo one with 2 side panels but got the dark one with just one side panel - it looks more polished and they didn't have the 2 panel option for the dark one. So far, it seems to be just the right width for one spot on a double or queen size bed. Two panels would be too wide and this one has enough space for a laptop, a plate/bowl and a cup when you make good use of the space. It's also quite sturdy. With all that on top, my cat trying to swipe my lunch, and holding my phone in one hand while eating with the other and elbowing my cat off my chicken, I didn't feel like anything was going to fall off, and nothing did. Will see how long it'll hold up, but with light-medium use, I expect this little piece of furniture to last a few years at least. It allows me to do homework on my bed without being at an uncomfortable angle. Its pretty easy to use, but if you have shoulder problems or arm weakness, I wouldn't recomend it. It takes some getting used to, but its perfect for what I need! I love that you can adjust how high the desk should be! It came with a tiny scratch, but it was pretty small so I didn't care. I've been using it on my bed so its a little uneven because of the way I placed it but its pretty sturdy for me. It also comes with a tiny drawer and I love it!It’s nice, but the legs sometimes collapse. I broke me leg and wanted to use this table so that I wouldn’t have to rest things on my broken leg. It collapses when the little metal hook that holds the legs up disengages. I have to catch it when it starts to fall…. I don’t use it because I’m too scared that it will fall on my leg and hurt me. The hooks seem to disengage randomly and with the slightest movement of the table. Not good for my situation.I really want to love this table and i was very happy that there was no assembly required but for a person with a bad back this is super heavy. I also had the raisable section slip and slam on my fingers so i wasn't impressed with that. The little wooden piece that holds the laptop from sliding down gets in the way of typing. Also the legs don't seem to stay open even after you fasten the clips. So i will be sending it back and exchanged it to a lighter aluminum/ plastic tray. I hope that will work out.
