It's real solid oak, cheap, extremely easy to assemble. However it has a bad locking mechanism that I simply won't be using, and the packaging is unnecesary and messy. I would recomend it though, I still think it's a good product. Not really Folding Desk when fully assembled, but sturdy and good looking. Perfect for small spacesThis desk arrived quicker than expected. The wood is attractive, assembly was a breeze and stability is great with a laptop/external monitor, keyboard and Mouse. There is ample room, much depends on configuration - I use a laptop riser which works great. I use the desk for telecommuting all day. Overall I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. For the price of this desk, you can’t go wrong! I would recommend, especially where space is at a premium and a small footprint is needed, and I would purchase this desk again. This is a nice little desk, but it is not as portable as I had hoped. I rent a room and live in a very small space so I was hoping that it would be something easy enough to jusy open and close everyday. The top is secured by screws to the frame and does not fold down you would have yo remove the top each time. I ended up taking another piece of furniture out of my to accommodate for leaving it up all the time instead of taking it apart Every day when I need to study or do homework. Otherwise this is a great little desk and very sturdy.Very nice portable table. The table had to much depth for the corner I wanted to place it, I knew this when I bought it. After I received it I removed the entire back legs and bracing then cut the top and horizontal side supports back by about 4 inches. I was surprised to see the joints are all double pegged which provides for a much stronger joint. Its solid wood and works well. One item that took a star was the locking mechanisms for the top. The swivels pieces are cheap and one broke in half when I turned it. That in itself presented no problem to me because I do not need a "portable" desk. But for someone that does be careful with these twist lock mechanisms. However, it does not really fold up when not in use. There are two assemblies, a desk top with drilled holes at the edge, and a gate leg arrangement that mate with each other using various fasteners and a tube of glue. No instructions, at least not in my package. Fortunately, I have experience elsewhere with these fasteners. It's a good desk, but it does not fold. Also, the desk top looks like real oak that has been cut into planks and glued together, then machine sanded and finished. And, it lists Vietnam as the country of origin. I didn't know that Vietnam has expatriate capitalists who do Scandinavian-style furniture. The desk looks great. Solid wood, nice finish, sturdy and nice looking. My problem was one of the fasteners busted when assembling with proper tools. I emailed the company thru Amazon, when I completed assembly. It arrived Feb. 12th and I assembled it the 13th. I have not heard anything from them and just want a replacement end piece (turns to capture the end of the bolt) for the fastener. As others have said, it's not a "folding" desk. It's packed in the box "folded". That being said, it can be used as a desk that comes apart, as long as you don't assemble it completely. The quality is very good, no problem there.
