I purchased this lamp because I have been painting some very detailed paint by number pictures and I was having problems seeing the lines and numbers with my glasses and without. This lamp has been a great help to me. Besides the excellent LED light (infinitely adjustable in three different shades--a natural light, bright white light, and warm-toned) that it provides, the 3X magnification is just right without distorting what I am looking at. Since the lens is glass, I will be much less likely to scratch it. I clamp it onto my dining room table and it stays put. I have been having much less eye fatigue and the headaches that followed since I have been using it. I have other plans to use it; I have a large bag of my late mother's costume jewelry that I would like to check carefully for the brand and other marks, this lamp should help with that. I also have a "diamond painting" kit that this will be great for, as well as some needlecraft kits. It easily adjusts to the correct angle and distance for me. This was a good purchase.
