I selected this fountain after looking at dozens here, Lowes and Wayfair. I wanted something ceramic because I knew it would be easier to clean than resin. The wet ceramic surface and rocks develop a slime layer after a week of use, even if you use distilled water, which I am. Distilled water is about $1 / gallon. I have had this for approximately a month so I have cleaned it twice. If the pump fails, I will go to a local place and replace it. The pumps are very inexpensive. I do love listening to running water and having a fountain indoors has made me want to get a larger one for our deck as well. You can add rocks to the tiers since it only comes with a very small bag of stones... river stones are available at any hobby shop. I do like the rolling glass ball on top, but if you wanted to dampen the light, you could put a small pile of rocks there instead. I have a couple of geode crystal pieces in mine. I would recommend this to anyone and I think the quality is good for the approx $80 cost that I paid. This table fountain is not only beautiful to look at and easy to put together, once it is assembled and the water is added (and it is plugged in of course), the sound of the water trickling done over the top level to the bottom one sounds almost as good as a small stream. It helps to create a very serene atmosphere. I have it in my bedroom. Just one note; make sure you have the 'crystal ball' in place before you plug it in. The stream of water that comes out, otherwise is strong enough to over shoot the bowl completely and get you wet. It is just a minor thing because once you've got together it is all peaceful.Years ago I had a fountain that I really enjoyed by homedics with the REAL slate so I was disappointed that when looking into table top fountains everything was now resin. So I changed my search to ceramic table top fountains as I was looking for something that didn’t look cheap, would last for a while and be pleasing to look at even if it was not turned on. I found it! First off this fountain is a beautiful colbalt blue as seen in the pic. It’s a well-made substantial fountain. It is heavy and once water in it is It’s definitely not light to move. It flows beautifully and has a very pleasing water flowing sound. There is a slight pump sound however not enough to drown out the sound of water. Overall it is well worth the money and should last quite awhile. If you’re on the fence about purchasing it, don’t be it’s a wonderful little fountain.Upon assembling the pump to the tube the top of the dish (plastic) that the ball sits in popped off...now it is difficult to get the water flow to work properly with water spurting everywhere. The overall quality was good and then to have something so cheap (plastic) AND cheaply attached that it popped off so easy was sad. Will not recommendFinally a fountain that works. We have tried a few that either rusted or didn't bubble. This one makes the soothing bubbly noise and the lit up glass ball spins and enhances our office entry way. Awesome. Easy to put together. We will add more rocks and crystals to add a personal touch. THANK YOU.This is a perfect size to sit on a small table inside a screened porch. Well packaged and easy to set up. The led light assembly adds a nice feature to the fountain. The bubbling fountain noise can be increased by simply lifting the glass sphere that sits over the fountains discharge, but the leaving the sphere in place allows the water against it allows the sphere to slowly rotate and creates a soothing optic. It works really well. Was really simple and looks and sounds amazing! Best fountain we’ve tried!
