I like this stool for the most part. I am 6' and probably 175ish, and I almost always keep my feet on the ground when using the stool because I don't want to break it. My other primary sitting device is a yoga ball. In comparison, this is less comfortable and wobbly, but it provides a better base for working on higher surfaces, and requires less effort to sit/stand. Being height adjustable, the stool could seat a greater variety of heights than a single yoga ball. I also it would be safer in an office setting, rather than a bunch of yoga balls rolling around. My cat also likes the stool, so that adds to my satisfaction. The color I purchased was probably 30% less expensive than the others at the time, I don't think I'd like it as much if I paid "full price".Help! This is a great stool. I use it in my recording booth. It's is very comfortable BUT... please HELP. I assembled the stool (easy) but the seat ended up sideways. How do I disassemble and get the seat in the proper orientation?UPDATE: I got it apart with a lot of determination and a pipe wrench. It turns out that the little arrow sticker on the cylinder that is supposed to line up with the arrow on the base was in the wrong place! So the cyclinder went in 45 degrees off. When you assemble this, be sure the notch in the top of the cylinder points to the back of the base and ignore the little arrow sticker if it seems off. As long as you do that, it's a cinch. One other thing, the hydraulic is weird, it goes up easily but I have to sort of bounce on it to get it to go down. I'm 5'4" and 135 so it really shouldn't be an issue. So... I will look into that next.UPDATE AGAIN: after a bit of use, it became easier to go up and down. I continue to use this stool daily in my sound booth and find it very very comfortable. It has not become wobbly like some of the other reviewers have had experience with. It has saved my back.Would be 5 stars if the cost was not over $200 and also if I felt strongly that the chair would last a few years or more to at least help justify the exorbitant price. I feel strongly that this chair should be priced around $100. What I do like, it does rise and lower easily, it’s not too heavy thus allowing you to move it easily, but it is heavy enough to stay in place and not feel overly wobbly, and it fits under my desk making for more space when not in use. Over all 4 stars for sure?1Year Update: The seat did what I was concerned with which is it became very loose. I'm over 200 lbs so I'm sure that plays a role. It must be under me just right or it's unstable. And the seat is uncomfortable over time. I have to use a separate gel pad to sit on it. For the price and what it is I would have liked it to remain sturdy for longer. It does take up little space and slides completely under my desk which is very nice for my situation.Original: I was reluctant to get this for my new sit/stand desk because I wasn't able to sit on it beforehand. I had concerns with the comfort of the seat and the height, as well as how wobbly it would be. Thankfully I am happy with all these aspects. The cushion is quite comfortable, including the waterfall front where the legs hang over the edge. No hard parts or discomfort.I am 6'5" and I do wish the max height was a bit higher but hey, story of my life. Overall this is a great seat. And being able to stow it underneath my desk when not in use really helps save space.Supporting 160 lbs, it’s quite stable-feeling. However, when I lean back flat for seated ab-crunches (try that with a regular chair/stool!), it’ll drop a half inch: surprised at first but predictable now. The fabric is a little slick so sliding off from perch sometimes. Cushioning feels like a comfy gel. Makes one occasionally mindful of posture and engaging core if that’s what you want (yes). Have to get used to it. The seat post re-centers automatically and lightly resists short, off-axis movement, so follows your fidgeting and twisting.First one I ordered was damaged. It was previously used and the metal support inside the base was warped and a supporting screw was stripped clean. It was suppose to be a new item. I notified amazon, and they were able to ship me a replacement. It was new as advertised and has no issues. I think it was a mixup with the Hon Company as the order was dispatched from there. Must have sent me a previously returned item.Very good for the price. I can't imagine spending $800 for some other stools out there. It's just a stool. Goes well with my standup desk and is helping my upper back. Just remember to make sure your hips have a forward tilt so that there is a natural arc to your lower back.Great Perch stool to accompany my standing desk! I wanted to stay around $200 which was tough when it comes to ergonomic products. There are other similar stools to this one but I chose this since HON is a very good and reputable company.I actually purchased 2 stools since I couldn't decide: The HON Perch and the FULLY tic tock chair (see photo). I love the tic tock chair for using as a sitting chair since it keeps you actively engaged the whole time. But it does not elevate as high as the HON for standing (see photo of both side by side at full height) . I'm only 5'1" but my husband is 5'10". He prefers the HON. I liked both so kept both, kind of defeating the set budget. But anyway I would recommend this chair. It's very sturdy and feels like it will last a long time.I bought this after looking over a few different options and price points. I'm 5'3" and the seat at its lowest point is too high for me so i find myself sitting at the very front of the seatwhich becomes uncomfortable. I wish I could drop down just a smidgen lower and I feel it could be ok. The base does not tilt like some of the other seats out there.I do feel it does help me sit up straighter but find myself not using it as much as I would if it fit right.Works well. One thing to note is you will need something to keep it in place if you are on a tile floor as it will slide if you lean on it. Would have been better if it had a base that had more grip and weighed more.To the person who said the seat failed because of 2 3/4" screws. That is because you installed it wrong. There is actually zero weight on the plastic sleeve. You did not have the metal cylinder in the correct place. This happened to me because the stickers that said to line up here were offset and luckily i tested it out with some force before sitting on it.Before you sit move it in all directions with some force with your hands to make sure the metal cylinder is in place or you will be hitting the floor in no timeI have really gotten used to this stool for my standing desk. Unfortunately the first stool I received started lowering while I sat/leaned on it. The happy part of this review is that they sent me a new one very quickly along with postage paid return shipping label so there was not cost to me for the return and the new one works flawlessly.Product is well made. Easy to put together. Only thing I did different, instructions say to attach plastic cover in the beginning, I attached with the screws when all complete. You could crack plastic if you do it at the beginning. When I first got the stool it worked fine. After 5-6 weeks, when i sit or lean on the seat, the hydraulic that regulates the seat height slowly sinks until I'm at the lowest point. For background I'm ~205 pounds. It works well for my adjustable desk. It takes time to get use to.
