This is a very sturdy desk. I'm glad I purchased this desk. One helpful hint for you. Even though the directions instruct you to put the bottom board in first, DON'T! Put the small board in first. You will not have enough space to put the screws in the bottom of the top small board with the large bottom board in place. Trust me, please!I got this to server as my COVID desk at home. IT was easy to put together and the pieces are solid. It is a writing desk so I wouldn't put my full weight on the wood that extends but it works great. My iMac fits well on top and I the clearance under the shelf is a hair over 5in.I am very happy with this!I needed a compact desk with unique appearance and this fit the bill. Assembly is simple and the fake wood tops are easy to clean. Very sturdy and does not creak after a a few months of use.Was purchased for a elementary/middle schooler. It is the perfect size for our purposes. Assembly was easy and the materials are better quality than expected.
