This desk works. It does. It holds a computer, speakers, and a fair bit of random desk stuff. But make no mistake, it absolutely MUST be against a wall. It has the absolute thinnest wood and the least amount of materials necessary to hold it together and do its job, *and that is it*. The pressed wood is half an inch thick. It's short. The main area that the monitor sits on is 27 1/2" high. The piece that pulls out for the keyboard is exactly TWO FEET from the floor. To use it I have to sit in an old folding lawn chair. None of our regular desk chairs or dining chairs is short enough. It's flimsy to the point that you CANNOT lean on it. It would break under any real pressure at all. Getting up from the chair I'm careful to only press down on the chair itself. Any pressure on the desk would break it or make it collapse, and I weigh 137 lbs.I would not recommend this desk to an adult. You're better off using a folding table.Overall good product however one of the boards were broken. You'll need a Philips screw driver, hammer, rubber mallet and ideally a second person to assemble this desk. The hardware is well labelled and supplied in individual bags (not the usual blister back that gets split halfway through assembly). Of note, mine was missing two of the small screws labelled #8 so I had to source them from screws I had on hand. The instructions are relative clear if you pay very close attention to them (e.g. it's very clear what parts attach to each other with what hardware if you closely examine the diagrams), except for the order of the instructions. They appear to be designed for paper half the height of letter and then printed on letter anyway. So the order is left to right, top to bottom but instead spirals in through two sets of four instructions per page. It's a little maddening because I have a lifetime of experience with instructions flowing left to right then top to bottom. I assembled it by myself by repeatedly flipping the parts around so they'd be mostly supported while I screwed them together. I ended up splitting one board because it was warped and I tried to true up the desk with the backing material. This is not furniture that you'll pass down to your kids, but it'll handle a laptop and some light office supplies. The shelves on the left are only rated for 10 pounds each, so I wouldn't recommend loading them with large reference material or any heavy items. The main desk area is barely large enough for my 15" work laptop and a small mouseOverall satisfied with the desk. Straightforward enough assembly. Serves its purpose. The keyboard drawer is tiny and suitable for your super basic, standard keyboard. Ours is larger so it works but it's barely fits. It's pretty easy to put together, it's very compact, and it's sturdy enough, doesn't wobble. It's not high quality but for the price, I'd call it a really solid choice for a desk. I have a very specific, small space that it fits perfectly into. The cubbies are good for storage, the raised platform is nice. I use it for making music - a laptop and whatever synth or keyboard I'm using. Be sure to check the dimensions as labeled in the pictures, they are accurate.Definitely great for the price, however it is kinda weak feelingPretty decent desk, especially for the price! It took a little extra brain power to build as they did not provide the best instructions but I figured it out relatively easily. (No words, just pics)One of the first sections of instructions showed the holes on the wrong side so I was concerned they were drilled wrong but I skipped ahead a little bit and found that the picture was just incorrect. Someone that is not as proficient (I am not a pro by any means but have some experience with these project pieces) in building these types of things would likely have given up and returned it though, so if you question the instructions, try looking ahead to see if it is just an error. Also, I saw a review say that one of the sliders for the keyboard tray was not right (there was a missing bend) and it actually was not missing. It was intentionally left straight so you could take the tray out later if needed. If it was bent like the other side, you would have to take the desk apart to get the tray out.The only real complaint I have is the packaging. Several pieces of the styrofoam were busted so I had a snowstorm in my box. I literally had to spray and wipe down every piece I took out, as it was covered in styrofoam balls. Took forever to clean up enough that I could build it.Otherwise, I received a great product and the price was incomparable.Love Amazon warehouse deals!!I read the dimensions (and converted to inches) but it did not prepare me for how small this desk really is. Granted it fits my space perfectly and my 9 year old perfectly (he's small for his age), but I was initially shocked at how small it is. In the picture the TV is only a 24" screen and only barely fits on the top, and I cannot push it up against the wall because the normal depth computer tower is many inches too deep for that.It is a cheap desk, and you get what you pay for. Several of the pieces had scratches on them. The foam packing left statically charged little bits stuck to every surface, which then stuck all over me. One of the label stickers on one of the pieces pealed off part of the laminate as I pealed it off. Cheap product all around, and small, but the price reflects that, so just know what you are getting yourself into. The quality is horrible, I would not ever recommend this. Not worth the money, a complete scam. Does not assemble correctly and the materials are cheap flimsy quality that breaks while assembling. Not only did the main piece for assembling the desk come damaged but it also came with faulty holes for assembling to where I could not finish putting it together.Requested return on day 1 after opening box, It took almost 8 months for them to finally come pick it up to return it.This is an awful cheap product invest a few extra quid for something less tacky looking. It's just awful. I am so disspaointend. The wooden dowels were missing and we had to purchase our own. If it wasn't the fact thqt the boy was so desperate for a desk for Christmas it would have been returned. It's literally the worst piece of flat pack furniture I've ever encountered. Should have know when it was reduced to such a low priceI normally as a rule read reviews on everything, this time I did not, big mistake, flimsy, scratched, side trim came off, black part colour stained, computer tower doesn't even fit inside its on the floor, can't be bothered to send back, it will do for now just to keep computer on.The delivery was fast and before expected date. Unfortunately the black desk surfaces were scratched (packaging was intact so not caused by delivery). The desk is for small spaces but is extremely fragile. Very thin wooden parts not sturdy at all. DisappointedExcuse the mess! Ordered this yesterday and arrived today, am absolutely over the moon! Exactly what I want, perfect size for my work systems, overall brilliant! Great value would highly recommend!
